Dear members,
Our Greens & Match Committee, have made a conscious effort to improve the standard of the greenside bunkers over the last 4 weeks.
It normally takes 2 people around 3 – 4 hours minimum to repair and level the bunkers to an acceptable standard.
To date, 20 greenside bunkers have been improved & despite requesting members to make an effort to rake the bunkers to an acceptable manner in the last couple of newsletters, we still see bunkers left in an appalling state.
The three photos below are left hand greenside bunkers on the 10th hole & were taken on Friday evening on the 24th of Feb.
Only members were playing last Friday.
It is apparent that some members may have limited understanding of how to rake a bunker & perhaps have a “I don’t care” attitude to raking bunkers.
I again implore members to check how each & every member of your playing group rakes bunkers. If they are only using one hand then that is a definite no -no.
If you are unsure of the correct processes to rake a bunker, you are most welcome to ask your playing partners, greens or match committee members or pro shop staff on the matter.
