Beautification of our Clubhouse – a note from GM

I commenced my role as GM 16 months ago (January 2022) and I remember my first impression of walking into our clubhouse.

It was tired looking. Still grand and spacious for various purposes but it was dirty, cluttered and tired.

A lot of our focus last year have been on our policies, operation structure (pro shop), course projects/improvement from levy and setting a base for financial stability.

It is time that we stand proud of our clubhouse…..again.

I also recently reviewed the results of the 2019 member survey.

I will note that a member wrote – “Listen to members input and comments“. Well….

Although times have changed and in particular, the effects of COVID 4 years after the member survey, there is a significant number of comments in the Q28: Are there any projects that you would like the Club to consider? that refers to the beautification and improvement of our clubhouse.

9% of comments received was towards the area of clubhouse.

Some of the comments were:

  • Paint the clubhouse inside and out
  • Replace the ceiling tiles in the indoor area of the clubhouse
  • Install large screens
  • Fresh look for the outside bar area
  • Clubhouse maintenance
  • Clubhouse ceiling

So ,let’s get into it.

In the last few weeks, we have commenced deep cleaning of our carpets in our main rooms, hallways and locker rooms.

We have also replaced a minimum of 60 ceiling tiles in our clubhouse and pro shop that had really bad water damage stains. We aim to replace another 60 in the next month.

Other jobs in clubhouse maintenance:

  • We repaired and painted the kitchen doors.

  • We replaced broken lights (ongoing matter)

Next week, on Monday 3 July and Tuesday 4 July, we will be repairing our air con wiring and this will include deep cleaning of our air con ducts.

And thanks to our members and their donations, large screens are now in place for viewing in the clubhouse and in the alfresco area.

For the next 6 months, there will be continuous projects around the clubhouse so that members of this Club will be proud of our 19th hole. This includes but not limited to: –

  • Painting of walls (inside and out)
  • Women’s locker room area – cupboard space and neat presentation of area
  • New board room chairs for our board table
  • Beautification of our trophy display cabinet
  • New outdoor furniture on grass area
