It is with great frustration that I report the care of our bunkers & divots on fairways are deteriorating despite our best efforts to educate and request our members to take extreme care in all cases.
The photos of the bunkers were taken early last Saturday morning, on the 1st of July. [Before any golfers were permitted on the course]. The lack of care is apparent to all. These footprints were made by members who either played twilights or were playing casual golf last Friday. This simply is not good enough.
The divots on the 13th fairway were approximately 125m from the green and appear to show some member playing up to 5 balls onto the green. Members are only permitted to play 2 balls per round (during casual or practice play round). What makes this worse is that no effort has been made to repair the divots. With winter here it is paramount that all divots are repaired.
The above matters will be raised at our next Greens meeting with a view that if any member are caught, they will be reported to the Disciplinary committee for an appropriate penalty.
The Ground staff are doing as magnificent job in improving the course yet some ill-advised members with a “I don’t care less attitude” are trying to drag us down.
Members, please be vigilant and either educate or report any members who do not rake bunkers or repair divots.
