Thrilling Championship concludes at Gosnells Golf Club

On April 5th, the Gosnells Golf Cub set the stage for a thrilling finale to its annual Club Championship. Members and spectators were treated to compelling performance as competitors battled it out across multiple categories.

In the highly anticipated Club Championship final, Ty Cleland demonstrated remarkable consistency and skill, securing a 3/2 victory against the top-seed Cain McGarvey. Despite McGarvey’s spectacular shot making, Cleland steady and error-free helped him gradually take control of the match, clinching the title for the first time after a hard fought 34 holes.

The ladies competition delivered its own drama, featuring a clash Saehi Suh and the formidable Sasha Hofman, who had won this championship for 7 consecutive years. In an epic battle that reached the final hole, Suh emerged victorious, winning 2 up. A pivotal mistake by Hofman on the 12th hole opened the door for Suh, who confidently sealed her victory with a birdie on the last hole, ending Hofman’s remarkable winning streak and concluding an unforgettable showdown.

In the Women’s B Grade 18 hole final, Deb Callcott claimed victory over Andy Riggir, showcasing her skill and determination throughout the match.

In the Men’s A Grade 18 hole final, Lee Wilson triumphed over Blake Wager, demonstrating remarkable composure and skill. Meanwhile, Wayne Ledlie claimed the B Grade title, overcoming Lou Lombardi in another compelling match. The C Grade final saw Jordan Gotch defeat Lindsay Harding, rounding out a day of competitive spirt and sportsmanship.
