The senior individual team travelled to Melville Glades to play them on their home track. Each team only plays one game against a team on their home course once, so it’s always tough!
Paul C and Walter P won well and I salvaged a square result so It was a good result in achieving a 2.5 each squared match, although, one player (namely me) had a one up lead down the last and managed to choke and cost us the win. Didn’t sleep for days!
Creditable performance to Neil Rigby and fill-in President Shane who both went down the last.

In a must win game against the very strong Joondalup at WA Golf Club, we again fell agonisingly close with another halved match. Without our Mr. Consistency Paul Chrystal at number 1, we all had to move up the order. I managed some redemption for the previous week’s debacle (and revenge for last year) with a 5/3 win over their number one player in Ian McPherson. Neil R had a great win 2/1 and President Shane won the last to grab a great halved result.
Lino got a slight battering and Walter with it all to play for just missed 2 putts over the last 2 holes that would have claimed us victory as he went down on the last. I was very proud of the team over the last couple of weeks. With a couple of putts going in we could have easily had 2 wins instead of 2 halved matches and would have had a real shake at the title. Instead we come into the last game with our pride on the line to hopefully snatch a runner-up result.
