Junior Development and Progression

Gosnells Golf Club has a strong Junior Program that prides itself on nurturing and developing young juniors from golf discovery to a level of high performance. The program is multi-staged, beginning with beginner level clinics held at schools and on-site at the club before transitioning into modified on course play and then into 18 hole play, where juniors hone their skills and gain an official GA handicap.

Monthly Medal Competitions

Once a month the club runs a ‘Monthly Medal’ competition that is a structured competition with a range of different playing formats suitable for all junior golfers. Our Junior Committee members provide on course support and mentoring through each of these competition formats to ensure our juniors are comfortable on course.

  • Tiger Tees – (5 and 9 hole options)

This format is for those juniors who are new to on course golf.  It features a half length course with modified rules to make it easier for those who are developing their skills. This fromat is aimed at getting new juniors onto the course and to experience a round of golf.

  • Modified Stroke – ( 9 holes)

This format is for juniors who have at least 6 months experience.  It features a full length course with most of the same rules as Tiger Tees.

  • 18 hole competitions

This format is for experienced juniors who have obtained a handicap.  Juniors play in weekly competitions and strive to be the annual Order of Merit Champion.
