July has been a great month for the Club - thank you to all our members who have renewed their membership with us. Your support is deeply appreciated and here is to another great 12 months ahead.
As we reflect on why memberships in golf clubs are an integral factor in our community, many have forgotten why they became a member and why it is more than just the dollar value.
Golf is a great way to improve not just your physical fitness but also your mental health. The camaraderie, friendships and sense of belonging of being part of this great club are important. It is only when we lose it, we realise it.
Our club continues to provide one of the best access to a golf course (no waitlist or queues) for our premium days and members enjoy the flexibility of open timesheets and casual availabilities.
For our house members - our dining offering has soared and improved in the last 12 months. Thanks to our hospitality team led by Carlee and head chef Gus - this team has continued to kick goal after goal. Our Christmas in July event last month was our first sold-out event in a long time. Our dining numbers continue to increase and we hope that members will continue to spread the word of mouth of our offerings to the local community. Marketing in this area doesn't fall on just one staff member - it falls on all of us to promote and entice the local community/non-golfers to come down to enjoy our Club in our F&B offerings.
Golf clubs are no different than any other sporting clubs. Being a member of this Club is a great chance to give back to the community and the Club by volunteering. Our member spotlight this month highlights this - Mark 'Doc' Halliday started volunteering to assist us with the small renovation of our pro shop in Dec 2022 and since then, he has been an integral part of our team - volunteering on the course and working as a contracted handyman for the Club.
A special shout out to all our course members/volunteers - it is never easy to say yes to cold morning starts - and this team of volunteers has been an integral part of our community and team in the Club.
I urge you to support our junior fundraising day on Friday 11 October. Please put together a team of mates for the event - it is our craziest and busiest event but it is so much fun! Our juniors (and parents) volunteer to be part of the day - on-course shots and bets together with our team of staff. Profits raised on the day go towards our junior program.
