GM Update

Congratulations to our elite juniors who have recently been selected into the 2025 Golf WA State Squads - Saehi Suh is a new call up joining Halia Edwards and Aileen Sirait in the girls squad. Halia (development player) and Aileen were also selected into the women's squad. Josiah Edwards have been selected into both boys and men's squads.

A special mention to Amanda Gan, who works in our pro shop as she is also selected in the women's squad.

Amendment to dress code

We have amended the dress code to include the following inclusion:

Men - Tailored bottoms designed to be worn with a belt, and a belt must be worn.

Women - Leggings (which are considered active wear) under skirts or skorts  is acceptable.

Noting the differing range of acceptable women's golf fashion, women do not need to wear a belt unless the clothing they wear is designed to be worn with a belt.

This was revised in our dress code guidelines to avoid confusion on the matter.

Booking online for dining

We encourage all members that comes in for dining to book ahead online. Booking online is easy (from the club's main page - under restaurant booking button, located at the top right corner) and quicker than calling the office. We will be requiring all non-members that come in for dining to be strictly booking online as well and this is due to our liquor license requirements.

A kind reminder that if you are coming in with guests for the purpose of just consuming liquor at the club, the maximum number of guests is 5. However, when meal is consumed, there is no limit to the number of guests. (ref: liquor license website)

Players insurance changes from 1 March 2025

The majority of members would have received a communication from Golf Australia prior to Christmas in regards to changes to the players insurance, from 1 March 2025. (This insurance cover is paid by all members as part of our affiliation with Golf Australia). We have yet to receive the finer details of this change as well and once we know more, we will advise all members accordingly.

The main change that was indicated from Golf Australia are:

Exclusions: Specific exclusions have been added for any claim, loss, damage, liability or costs and expenses incurred directly or indirectly in connection with third party property damage to:

Proposed reserve cancellation, disposal and amalgamation of land to Gosnells Golf Club

Thank you to all members that have been very supportive and congratulative on the recent news to dispose and amalgamate lot 690 and lot 751 with our currently owned lot 443. As advised by the club president, Shane in the last communication, this was a fantastic result that was achieved to secure the land issue that has been plaguing our Club for over 30 years.

We have also received feedback that some members were unable to open the attachment of the previous email communication in regards to the matter. Please click on link - extracted agenda for OCM 17.12.24 (PDF link).

IJG winners 2024

IJG winners 2024

Congratulations to the inaugural IJG Gosnells Junior Invitational Champions, Ollie Marsh and Halia Edwards. The 54-hole event was played at Gosnells Golf Club from the 16th to the 18th of December 2024. A strong field of 70 junior golfers assembled to take part in the inaugural year of competition, in which the Club hopes to make a regular fixture in the calendar. This was a significant event for both Gosnells Golf Club and golf in Perth as it held World Amateur Golf Ranking status, making it the only event in the Perth Metropolitan area to do so. As a result, the field included representatives from Malaysia, Indonesia and South Korea, all of whom competed against alongside some of the best junior golfers in the state.

13-year-old local talent and Gosnells Golf Club member Halia Edwards took victory in the Girls Championship, besting her rivals by 1 stroke to win on the final hole. Edwards has been a member of Gosnells Golf Club since she was seven years old and plays off a handicap of 2. As a local representative, her victory was a popular one and there are sure to be many more accomplishments on the horizon for the emerging talent.

Ollie Marsh who is a member of Joondalup Country Club showcased his consistency over the three days of competition, finishing the 54-hole tournament on even par to become Champion. He and runner up Liam Sullivan were locked in a tense battle on the final day going shot for shot until Marsh was able to outlast Sullivan to take victory by just one stroke.

City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes attended the final day's action to present and honour the two Champions. The club thanks Mayor Lynes and the City of Gosnells for their support of this event and is looking forward to continuing to work closely with the City of Gosnells in hosting and promoting future events in the local community.
