Summer Cup
Congratulations to Paul Spedding and Brianna Chueakrungthep for winning the cup in the men's and women's Gosnells Summer Cup over the weekend.
Local Rules
A reminder that as from 1 January 2025, the red penalty area on the 9th /18th hole is a no play zone and penalty relief must be taken if your ball is in this penalty area. The red penalty area on the 15th hole also remains a no play zone.
The red penalty area between the 15th and 16th holes is a normal red penalty area - that is there is no local rule associated with this area and a player may choose to play their original ball within the penalty area for no penalty shot.
Junior Pennant Hosting
On Sunday 9 February we will be hosting Junior Pennants in the morning. The scheduling of junior pennants is undertaken by GolfWA - all clubs are required to host in the morning. We were scheduled to host a social group in the afternoon on this day, this group has been cancelled and we will run a members competition instead in the afternoon.
Major Competitions
The dates for the club's major competitions for 2025 have largely been finalised. We are now approaching the time of year when a number of events occur in quick succession.
Opening Day will be Saturday 22 February - AM and PM Shotgun start as is customary. A Scotty Cameron putter will be up for grabs for the winner of both the AM and PM field.
The G&L Millett Trophy will be Sunday 23 February, PM. This is a Mixed Canadian Pairs Stroke event. The timesheet for this event will open 6pm Friday 31 January.
The Club Foursomes Championships will be held Sunday 9 March AM with a shotgun start. The timesheet for this event will open 6pm Friday 7 February. As this event is the main event of the day - there will be no individual members competition on this day.
The Club Championships will follow the same format as last year, 2 rounds of stroke qualifying followed by Matchplay. The qualifying rounds will be played on Saturday 22 March and Sunday 23 March, with the matchplay rounds over the following 2 Saturdays. The timesheet for the qualifying rounds will open 6pm Friday 21 February with members able to book a group directly into the timesheet.
The Men's Senior Open will be played Friday 11 April, followed by the Gosnells Open (Male and Female) on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April.
The Gosnells Junior Open will be held Wednesday 23 April - PM.
The W McGhie trophy will once again be held on ANZAC Day, Friday 25 April in the afternoon. As a mark of respect to those who served the country, there will be no AM casual play on this day.
The Women's Silver Bronze will be held on Friday 9 May AM.
The Senior Club Championships will be held over two Sundays, 11th and 18th May.
Further information on all of the above events will be made available in due course.
Pennant Nominations
Expressions of Interest were recently sent out to members for the 2025 pennant seasons. If you are interested in playing pennants, please ensure you nominate by the due date - there are different dates depending on when the respective seasons are played.
