GM Update - Thursday 3 April

Next Thursday promises to be an exciting day at the club, as member Johnson Taylor sponsors two shotgun competitions. Additionally, the Thursday Chase the Ace draw, which has been running for over a year with 50 unsuccessful attempts, is poised for a potential win.

The Club thanks Johnson Taylor for his generous sponsorship of this Thursday's two shotgun competitions. Johnson has kindly sponsored $1,000 worth of prizes including major prizes of a pair of FootJoy Fuel shoes and a Links Legend golf bag. Be sure to enter the timesheet in either the 7:30am or 12:30pm shotgun start for your chance to win some great prizes.

Chase the Ace set to be drawn

Our Thursday Chase the Ace draw has come to the final two cards and is set to go off next Thursday following the completion of the afternoon competition. To avoid a final week 'raffle', Vice Captain and Chase the Ace organiser Clay Godwin has decided that the ace will be found this Thursday. This means that if the person whose ticket is drawn selects the incorrect card, there will be a re draw, allowing everyone else the chance to select the final card on the board.

Be sure to get down to the club this Thursday in what promises to be a great members day.

2025 Club Championships Update

The 2025 Club Championship Quarter Finals are set with 44 members advancing into this Saturday's match play rounds.

Congratulations to Cian Mcgarvey and Jorja Hinson-Tolchard on shooting the best gross scores across the 36 holes of qualifying, resulting in them entering championship match play as the number 1 ranked players respectively. Cian scored solid rounds of 73 (+3) and 71 (+1) to comfortably take the men's gross title ahead of Ty Cleland, Andrew Woods and Mason Burr who all ended on +7. In the women's field, Jorja shot +5 thru her 36 holes to take victory by 4 strokes over Halia Edwards.

Be sure to get down to the club tomorrow to cheer on our members who are competing in match play golf throughout the day. Catch the action from the alfresco area and enjoy our Bottomless Beers promotion, running from 1-3pm.

Come down to the Club tomorrow and support your fellow members in Club Championships match play action, whilst enjoying two hours of flowing tap beers, Frankie sparkling and Spear Tree wines.

Sharing platters consisting of Cajun chicken, Tennessee slow cooked brisket, lamb with chimichurri sauce, ranch slaw, salad, chips & wedges is included in the ticket price.

Club Ambassadors in the Mix

Ambassadors Jarryd Felton & Maddison Hinson-Tolchard have both started well to be sitting in the top 10 in their respective tournaments after two rounds.

Jarryd is currently competing in the National Tournament held at the National GC (Gunnamatta course). A spectacular first round of 64 (-8) that included 9 birdies along with a very solid second round of 71 (-1), has left him tied for 7th going into the weekend, 3 shots back of the leader. Over in NSW at the Binalong Golf Club. Maddy is competing in the 54 hole World Sand Greens Championships. Currently at even par, Maddy has shot rounds of 68 (-2) and 72 (+2) to sit T4, 9 shots back of the leader with 18 holes to play. Click HERE to follow the leaderboard.

Our 2025 GGC Junior Open champions will each take home a Scotty Cameron putter, PLUS we have $3K worth of other Titleist prizes for you to win

Enter now for the event to be held on Wednesday April 23rd. Entry is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. We'll have the course in top condition as usual for the biggest field of juniors of the year, plus the price includes post round food and a drink for all players!

Due to timing of the event we have created a special families menu for anyone wanting to beat the peak hour traffic and eat post round before driving home. For the parents, we also have a happy hour running from 5pm – 6pm every weeknight! To assist our chefs, please just register a booking in our online system so we can judge numbers and be prepared to make everyone’s evening easier as we have the shotgun event and everyone will arrive around the same time. We have a limited pub classics menu available with kids options for non-playing siblings as well.

Sally Mackenzie 90th Birthday

On Wednesday, Life Member Sally Mackenzie celebrated her 90th birthday over lunch at the club with our Wednesday women's group

For over 35 years, Sally has been an integral and much loved member of the club. Happy 90th birthday Sally!

No Friday Night Dining April 4th

Please note that there will be no Friday Night Dining and Live Music in the Randall Room next Friday the 4th of April as we are closed for a private function. However, casual bar meals will be available from the Alfresco bar. Relax and enjoy the sunset over the greens.
